Hum Tum - 2

Hum & Tum in a restaurant...

Hum: What you want to have?
Tum: Anything, except foods that are spicey or too sweet.
Hum: (eye brows raised) I see, then I think you can order a glass of water.
Tum: Grrrrrrrr.
Hum: Let's order Rumali Roti & Tandoori Chicken (yummy)
Tum: Nope. I will decide what's good for you and me.
Hum: Okay. :-( Go ahead (hands over the menu).
Tum: I think we should go for...hmmm.... let me see...
Hum: Fast yaar, am feeling damn hungry.
Tum: Okay, then we will go ahead with what you ordered.
Hum: (Sigh)!!

Food arrives and Tum goes to wash hands...

Hum couldn't resist the smell of Chicken and invariably takes a piece and eats....

Tum comes back seeing this...

Tum: How dare you eat before I joined you on the table. Don't you know manners.
Hum: Arre yaar, what manners and all between us.
Tum: You don't love me at all. how many times have I waited for you without eating.
Hum: (remembers the last time Tum ate without waiting for Hum, but keeps quiet)
Tum: All you people are like this only... blah blah... blah blah... blah blah...
Hum: (bonkers bonkers bonkers)

And the story continues....

Ariyaatha pillakku choriyumbol ariyum!

As a kid/teenager, my only source of information to learn malayalam was Manorama Publications' Balaram, a children's fortnightly and my granny. I still vividly remember how she used to teach me the basics of malayalam whenever I come to Kerala on vacations. My granny was also a great source of amazement for me as she used malaylam proverbs or the so called "pazham chollu" every now and then. These proverbs, though small in length and use, had deep insights! Though I can read/write Malayalam today, thx to Balarama and my granny, I used to miss her proverbs a lot. But not anymore!! Thanks to this Wikipedia link , forwarded to me by Vinay
