COIMBATORE: The city-based KGiSL Institute of Information Management has entered into an MoU with Microsoft Corporation to launch Microsoft IT Academy Centre at the KGiSL IIM campus.
KGiSL is claimed to be the first institution in Coimbatore to sign the agreement with Microsoft.The MoU was signed by Ashok Bhakthavatsalam, managing trustee of the KGiSL Trust and P P Sunil, National Manager, Education, Microsoft, along with Quadra Systems, Microsoft’s first Gold Certified partner in India.‘‘This agreement would add value to students studying in the MCA programme at KGiSL and to those undergoing the various under-graduate programmes at the KG College of Arts and Science,’’ said Ashok Bhakthavatsalam.
The Microsoft IT Academy would empower academic institutions to deliver IT training -from desktop and application skills to networking and developer technologies for IT professionals. The programme would meet the diverse needs of students, schools and the demands of the local workforce.
Microsoft will train the faculty of KGiSL IIM and help them in delivering the highest quality of technical education to their students.Armed with the latest technology skills, the students would be in a select group that would receive early information and training on new product releases, beta variations, guidelines and tips on new courses, online and instructor-led training.
