Octagon Cricket Series - Liverpool Vs. Chelsea!

On day 3 of the Octagon Series, Liverpool took on Chelsea in the first match. Chelsea batted first and got off to a decent start thanks to the brilliant knock by Rajeev and Juby. Juby couldn't materialize his brilliant start and got out fast. Though wickets fell at regular intervals, the run rate was always high thanks to Rajeev's brilliant knock and the contribution from other batsmen. They ran hard and the score board kept ticking. At the end of allotted 8 overs, Chelsea took 58 runs.

With a target they were confident of achieving, Liverpool's Raghu and Niyas opened the innings. Raghu, in his usual style, got off to a good start, but at a crucial point in the match, he had to return to the dressing room because of the 20-run restriction. Niyas couldn't add much. Chandru steadied the innings, but Chelsea, with some brilliant bowling from Rajeev and Co., came on top and got the important wicket of Chandru. Then it was a nail-biting finish and till the last ball was bowled, it was a 50:50 chance for both the teams. Sathyaseelan, Subhash, and Thiagu of Liverpool tried to save the match, but fell short of 3 runs.

Yes, Chelsea won this thriller of a match and registered their first win in the series.

Ariyaatha pillakku choriyumbol ariyum!

As a kid/teenager, my only source of information to learn malayalam was Manorama Publications' Balaram, a children's fortnightly and my granny. I still vividly remember how she used to teach me the basics of malayalam whenever I come to Kerala on vacations. My granny was also a great source of amazement for me as she used malaylam proverbs or the so called "pazham chollu" every now and then. These proverbs, though small in length and use, had deep insights! Though I can read/write Malayalam today, thx to Balarama and my granny, I used to miss her proverbs a lot. But not anymore!! Thanks to this Wikipedia link , forwarded to me by Vinay
