Peak Day Blues' Octagon Series - Barcelona Vs. Real Madrid!

Day 2 of the Octagon Series saw the Group B teams taking on each other. The first match was between the mighty Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Barcelona won the toss and strategically decided to take the willow first. Ranjith and Lal opened the innings. Though it was a slow start, both of them played well and Ranjith top scored with 20 runs. Reyas and Hari also played valuable innings in steadying the team's score. RC, though came late, had an important partnership with Hari, which saw the team reaching a respectable score of 55 runs. RR & Jagan were the last to play with RR adding 2 more runs to the score.

In reply, Real Madrid played with grit and determination. They took most of their runs in singles as Barcelona team had a very strong line up of fielders in the outskirts! Rajiv, imitating Jonty Rhoes, did some spectacular fielding and saved quite a few valuable runs. In the end, in a very closely fought match, Real Madrid won with only few balls remaining.

  1. This is a totally biased report spoiling the spirit of the Octagon Cup. After all there should be some appreciation for the winning team. WHAT IS GOING ON HERE? :-(

Try to be neutral in the future.

Ariyaatha pillakku choriyumbol ariyum!

As a kid/teenager, my only source of information to learn malayalam was Manorama Publications' Balaram, a children's fortnightly and my granny. I still vividly remember how she used to teach me the basics of malayalam whenever I come to Kerala on vacations. My granny was also a great source of amazement for me as she used malaylam proverbs or the so called "pazham chollu" every now and then. These proverbs, though small in length and use, had deep insights! Though I can read/write Malayalam today, thx to Balarama and my granny, I used to miss her proverbs a lot. But not anymore!!
