The JLT Party!

This time, the JLT party was held at the famous Kari Motor Speedway in the outskirts of Coimbatore. To be precise, a village called Chettipalayam, some 10 kms from the main city.

We had a gala time at the circuit and this can easily be counted as one of the best JLT's ever. Indeed it was a special JLT for me too personally as am very much interested in Go Karting and had raced in two other circuits in Coimbatore, but never got a chance to visit Kari Motor Speedway.

There were nearly 45 of us there and all of us karted to our hearts content!! Towards the end, we even had a pro race in which Rajiv, myself, Russel, and Chandru participated. Any guesses as to the winner?? Hmm... Yours Truly! :-)

There were even some horrifying racing accidents as it is part of motor racing. Our champ racer, Abhilash, went and crashed his kart into the near by field! Though I didn't see the incident myself, I heard from others that the Kart almost flew from the surface. The saddest part was, we had to part away with Rs. 2,500 extra as the axil of the kart broke and they charged for it!

Here's the rest of the story thru pics:

Ariyaatha pillakku choriyumbol ariyum!

As a kid/teenager, my only source of information to learn malayalam was Manorama Publications' Balaram, a children's fortnightly and my granny. I still vividly remember how she used to teach me the basics of malayalam whenever I come to Kerala on vacations. My granny was also a great source of amazement for me as she used malaylam proverbs or the so called "pazham chollu" every now and then. These proverbs, though small in length and use, had deep insights! Though I can read/write Malayalam today, thx to Balarama and my granny, I used to miss her proverbs a lot. But not anymore!! Thanks to this Wikipedia link , forwarded to me by Vinay
