Octagon Cricket Series - Juventus Vs. Barcelona!

In the second match on Day 4, Barcelona played against Juventus. Barcelona won the toss and elected to field first.

Murali and Manohar started the innings for Juventus, but both of them perished fast because of some good bowling and fielding by Barcelona. Catches win matches and it was very true for this match as all the top batsmen of Juventus got out because of some brilliant catches. "RC took a diving catch to get rid of Jomy". Peter was the saving grace for Juventus, as this left hander played a patient innings and amassed 19 runs. In the end, Juventus took a total of 50 runs. Barcelona had a very good outing in the field, with just 5 extras.

In return, Hari and Lal opened the innings. Hari added 8 runs before getting bowled to an inswinger from Manohar. Lal and Reyas build up a good partnership afterwards which helped Barcelona steady their innings. Towards the end, Shijo and RR made sure that Barcelona won with a comfortable margin. What was striking in this innings was that not a single boundary was hit till the last ball of Barcelona's innings. Some credit goes to their running behind the wicket.

Here's the scorecard:

Ariyaatha pillakku choriyumbol ariyum!

As a kid/teenager, my only source of information to learn malayalam was Manorama Publications' Balaram, a children's fortnightly and my granny. I still vividly remember how she used to teach me the basics of malayalam whenever I come to Kerala on vacations. My granny was also a great source of amazement for me as she used malaylam proverbs or the so called "pazham chollu" every now and then. These proverbs, though small in length and use, had deep insights! Though I can read/write Malayalam today, thx to Balarama and my granny, I used to miss her proverbs a lot. But not anymore!! Thanks to this Wikipedia link , forwarded to me by Vinay
