Mumbai, also called the maya nagri in Hindi has been having a rough patch for the past few days. While it was just recovering from the deluge of flood and the Shiv Sena's bandh a few days back, blasts in 7 different trains in the magnitude which is hard to believe has certainly rocked the city.
It was a heartrending to see all those live pictures beamed by so many different TV stations. I was particularly moved by the gesture of the Mumbaikars who were distributing water and biscuits even at these difficult situations.
Though I've only been to Mumbai as a kid and have got only faint memories of it, I do have some friends over there, especially a few bloggers. I hope all of you guys are doing just fine.
Crying is a virtue that is bestowed upon by God to the womens of this world. They say it makes a women stronger. A man usually shows his virtuosity by indulging in the so called many acts. But even by the best standards, it takes a so called "strong willed" man, who I doubt might have a heart or mind of his own, to take on people who are less powerful in psyche than him. He should be called a "coward".
Yes, it's a cowardly act by a few who in the name of a piece of land has been waging war with India since 1947. Hello? What are you going to achieve with this? Will you be satisifed if you get that particular piece of land or will you be asking for more??
I personally don't think that's the reason. From the ages, dating back to the great kings and sultans of India, it usually is an ego clash between the power and mighty that often results in the deaths of millions of poors.
Haven't you heard of stories where a king wages a war with his rival in the name of a single woman, thereby risking his whole army. I hope you get the point.
So, how to kill a coward? By being brave and showing that we all stand united at whatever cost. This was very much visible during the Kargil conflict and am pretty sure will be the same.
I am a proud Indian and I stand by my brothers/sisters during this adversity. May god give them the courage to come over this great tragedy.
And you bloody f****s, your days are counted!
"If you are late for work in Mumbai and reach the station just as the train is leaving the platform, don't despair. You can run up to the packed compartments and find many hands unfolding like petals to pull you on board. And while you will probably have to hang on to the door frame with your fingertips, you are still grateful for the empathy of your fellow passengers, already packed tighter than cattle, their shirts drenched with sweat in the badly ventilated compartment. They know that your boss might yell at you or cut your pay if you miss this train. And at the moment of contact, they do not know if the hand reaching for theirs belongs to a Hindu or a Muslim or a Christian or a Brahmin or an Untouchable. Come on board, they say. We'll adjust."
