I Scream!

During my weekend visit to Cochin, I chanced upon an Ice Cream Parlour with a difference... You get to choose what you want in your ice scoop a.k.a you can have vanilla, choclate, strawberry, apricot - all in one scoop. The shop's name is Pick & Mix and they charge you by the proportion of your ice cream's weight.

Creative Commercial Advertisement

I'm a big fan of creative advertising. Period. If you've noticed my past posts, you would have noticed a heady mix of advertisement related topics. Here's one I found really funny and creative after a long time... This one is from Camlin for their permanent markers.. People who get chain mails from friends also would have seen another of Camlin's creative advertisement, that of, the CEO writing CHANGE in the board!!

BPO Lover!

Unrequited love led to tragedy at a Noida call centre, when a senior customer care executive shot and seriously injured a colleague at the company cafetaria after an argument over a woman colleague on Thursday evening. Karanjit Singh, 27, pulled out a pistol at HCL’s call centre number 4, in the presence of the woman, and shot Aamir Alam, 28. When the security guards surrounded him, he handed over the pistol and surrendered. Read more

Chelsea Fans!

As part of their honeymoon, the newly-married Bachchan couple, Abhishek and Aishwarya decided to watch football matches in London. Chelsea football fans saw the glamorous guests at two of matches at the Stamford Bridge football club recently. Of course, Bollywood’s first family was not found on the terraces, but was given full use of Russian millionaire and club owner Roman Abramovich’s private box. The second richest man in the UK laid out a spread of Indian food for his guests and arranged for them to receive a sterling silver pen and signed a football shirt as belated wedding presents. Is the SUN setting?

The Maran's have lost Rs 84 crore in the last three days, since the family fued between them and Karunanidhi family came out in the public after the Madurai fiasco.... According to this report on ET: "Sun TV’s market cap was above Rs 11,124.57 crore last Wednesday, and dropped to about Rs 10,188.02 crore on Tuesday! Meanwhile, the share prices of a rival channel Raj TV jumped 20% to Rs 226.40 a share on Tuesday." That's the problem when your business is politically motivated!

Brin got Married!

Sorry, ladies! The world has lost yet another most-eligible bachelor -- perhaps the most eligible bachelor on the planet. We've learned that Sergey Brin, the former Prince Georgian and U-Md. grad who co-founded Google, quietly married his girlfriend, Anne Wojcicki, in the Bahamas last weekend. Google officials said they cannot comment on their executives' personal lives. But one guest told friends that Brin flew the smallish wedding party down to the islands and that the ceremony itself was held on a sandbar to which guests either had to swim or take a boat. Brin immigrated from Russia as a young child with his parents, both academics, and founded the Internet search engine with fellow Stanford grad student Larry Page. Now 33 and Google's president of technology, Brin was estimated by Forbes this spring to have a net worth of $16.6 billion, making him the ninth-richest person in the United States and the richest 30-something in the world. Wojcicki, a biotech analyst who jus

Licensing Agreement!

Chandru pointed out to me this particular licensing agreement , from the makers of WordWeb, the widely popular web-based thesaurus, for people to download their free version of the software. "You may use the program free of charge indefinitely only if You take at most 4 flights (2 return flights) in any 12 month period. AND you do not own or regularly drive an SUV (sports utility vehicle). " And if one doesn't qualify these terms and conditions, he/she should uninstall the s/w from their computer. I'm impressed! Definitely a unique way to spread on the message of Global Warming

Nat Geo Adventure!

I'm glad to inform all my dear readers that I will be featured in two television shows pretty soon... First I got an invite from Asianet for their program Sahasikante Lokam and since the producer of the show was also the Exec. Producer of Nat Geo Adventure, I will be featured in that also.... Ok, let me get into the "matter of the fact"... I did a daredevil stunt recently to rescue a little kid's favorite playing ball from a deep and dirty pond, by using my intuitive mind and "who's scared" attitude which drew the attention of many.... Don't believe me?? See for yourself!! [The ball didn't fall fully into the pond as the "patta" blocked it] [with great difficulty and courage, I rescued it!] [Here's the big band pond, which I heard is haunted?!]

For many of us, life on the Internet starts and ends with Google! However you try denying it, life is not full without us using the services of Google each and every day. Heck, I can't even imagine a day without using any of Google's services... Well, here's a man who successfully vented out Google from his life and lives to write in about it.... and has a good reason to do so. PS: Personally, I think he's crazy as I can't imagine myself living without Google. Do you also think so??

Best Selling!

Okay, here's a quick quiz for all of you.... Name the device that, with less years in the market, sold twice the amount of the iPod? Here's a clue. It's the best-selling cell phone in the world - 200 million units!! No, no, it's not my LG Chocolate, though it has shipped 10 million itself and comes fourth after iPod and RAZR.... Gave up?? It's our humble-looking, rock bottom priced Nokia 1100!! Read more

When Elephants Attack!

Hailing from the state of Kerala, I've been brought up to respect Elephants and its sensitivities. I don't know when I turned into a die-hard elephant lover, but I believe the over exposure to elephants through various "poorams" at my native helped a great deal in this. Elephants by nature are tame and by no way they have any intentions to hurt anyone. But, if provoked they can go to any extent. I've personally seen it in my childhood as to what happens when an elephant gets angry. But this video, which was forwarded to me via mail, was horrifying. This incident happened in Chettuva, Thrissur during a mosque's annual celebrations on 09.04.07. The elephant named "Vinayan" became angry seeing the treatment meted out to another elephant and attacked its mahout and killed him. Watch this gruesome video only if you are not faint at heart!! PS: Here's another video taken by a videographer at the event, which is more gruesome
