Finding Talent!

Mr. Jayamurali, KGiSL's VP of Corporate Relations is quoted in an article by LN Revathy of The Hindu Business Line.

The article, detailing the current job scenario in ITeS/IT space, can be read here - http://is.gd/uWLM

Excerpts from the journal:

Mr Jai Murali, Vice-President (Corporate Relations), KGISL, said the challenge was in getting the right talent. The company, he said, will need to place 120 people by June 1.

He has just got back after a two-week tour of the US, Europe and Canada with two mega projects for his company. "It involves 82,000 inbound calls a month and this would soon grow to 1,20,000 calls. They are seeking our service for customer and sales support services. We have 20 agents on the job at present, but will need another 120 by June 1," he said.

He said there were enquiries for voice-based services from a Canada-based travels company, a consumer products company in the US, a charity fund raising firm in the UK and trade fair related queries in Europe. "There are opportunities on one hand, pressure on billing and identifying the right person with the right skill on the other," he said.

PS: Mr. Jay's name is wrongly spelled in the edition.

Ariyaatha pillakku choriyumbol ariyum!

As a kid/teenager, my only source of information to learn malayalam was Manorama Publications' Balaram, a children's fortnightly and my granny. I still vividly remember how she used to teach me the basics of malayalam whenever I come to Kerala on vacations. My granny was also a great source of amazement for me as she used malaylam proverbs or the so called "pazham chollu" every now and then. These proverbs, though small in length and use, had deep insights! Though I can read/write Malayalam today, thx to Balarama and my granny, I used to miss her proverbs a lot. But not anymore!!
