To tap the global boom in clinical trials outsourcing, the Mumbai-based Metropolis Health Services Group is setting up state-of-the-art laboratories not only in India, but also in the Gulf, Sri Lanka and Kenya.
Metropolis is opening a clinical trial laboratory in Dubai under a tie-up with the Gulf Medical College Hospital and Research Centre and two similar facilities in Sri Lanka and Nairobi, said G.S.K. Velu, the group's managing director.
In India, the group has firmed up plans for a testing facility in Coimbatore and two clinical trial laboratories in Chennai and Bangalore.
The two clinical trial laboratories in Chennai and Bangalore will be ready by June, while the testing centre in Coimbatore will be up and running next month.
