I was asked to compile a small corporate video by Sam as an experiment. We shot it yesterday evening with my digital still camera and I edited it at home with Movie Maker... Here's the exclusive video for all my readers! Hope you will like it.
Comments/suggestions for a professional corporate video, which we are planning to do soon are most welcome! Do drop in a comment

First and foremost I appreciate your attempt in making a corporate video. You have started really well. I would like to give some suggestions here. You could have avoided those photos. What was the subject or theme of the video? No titles, subtitles etc…
ReplyDeleteYou could have covered department wise, and each department with their heads, leads, members and so on.. You can watch some documentary clips for better presentation in the future. Hope this helps you!
Hey let me congratulate u for this work.
ReplyDeleteI read the above comment and I am agreeing with that .You can have a look on Videos of Infosys in Youtube. The training hall looked over- crowded and many were standing there. Not good for a professional touch.Better avoid those photographs ,instead of that show ur departments with titles.I hope the one u have shown here is only a sample.not the actual one.now the place looks like a mess.I know you can make it .
Good effort RC!
ReplyDeleteI will get back with more deeper feedback.
Thanks a zillion for all those valuable feedbacks!! And yep, this is just a sample... Special thx to Maya chechi for giving inputs on each and every shot... Sweet Idiot, may i know who you are? ;-)
ReplyDeletehey, sorry due to hectic sched and my own blogs, I couldn't reply you faster.
ReplyDeleteHere's what I have to say.
Building
People
and Bond
Is what you have to concentrate at.
Building: Focus on the Corporate house (or here the Co.) and then the Infrastructure/departments.
People: Who are the pple you want to cover up (make a list)
Bond: Office Functioning:
This can include, meetings/conferences/fundoes/presentations/and general routines
Jot down: The frames which you want to frame and what you want to include in each frame. (include accessories - can be staff or office functionaries/ some interior designing)
Give a sharp opening and a close
Good "Light" is needed.
So all you had to do is "step into the shoes of a Director."
and start writing a script..
Hope this helps!
All The Best!!
I very well support Sindhu's comments..!! Well Done Sindhu..!!
ReplyDeleteRC, a very unprofessional attempt...!!!..Poor editing skills.!!..should've avoided shots of people (Sam) scratching head..!!!
All the Best...!!
Do your best next time...!!
One more thing I wanted to add is shoot things as it happens, don't make pple enact. This is not a Soap item.
ReplyDeleteSecond thing don't attempt to shoot everything on the same day. Get to know the details of conferences and presentations and shoot it as it happens.
Not necessary you will have to include everything you shoot, edit it later. Will also be good if you include some background score.. only when needed. May be Gautum can help!!

ReplyDeleteThx Sindhu for those feedbacks... great appreciated... one thing wanted to clarify was, this was a totally impromptu decision and we just wanted to know how it works... next time, will surely take all your suggestions into consideration...
ReplyDeleteAnon, as I said, this is just a sample and it was very impromptu... good that ur supporting Sindhu
Hey RC!
ReplyDeleteI know .. but I think I don't want to give any feedback for the sake of giving.
I guess this will defntly be useful for your own self! if not for the co.
In fact, I just tried if I am able to think from that angle, bcoz i am planning myself to do some shoot soon!
RC,
ReplyDeleteNice effort man. Include more shots. The background music is good. Not much has changed inside the module from the time I left. Keep up the effort, I know you can do better.
Sriram G.
Thx Sri!
