A man has paid a whopping Rs 3 lakh to the Trivandrum Transport Department to get a rare registration number for his car.
The registration number shares its initials with the famous assault rifle Automatic Kalashnikov.
Alex Thomas' brand new Toyota Corolla car's number KL01-AK47 is generating a lot of curiosity in the city, after he grabbed the number in an auction conducted by the authorities.
Transport authorities have said that a similar number, AK-1 had amassed a record in Trivandrum, which was sold for $7,954.
Such unique numbers often generate a good response at the Regional Transport Office. Nearly 141 such numbers have already been auctioned by the RTO authorities in Kerala.
