WTF? Blog outage hits Coimbatore too!

From Monday, when I heard from my fellow bloggers in the metros that the Govt. of India had clamped down on blogs, I was under the impression that this will be sorted out soon. I thought from a technical point of view, the Govt. is not at fault, but the ISP providers coz they stopped access to the root directory of Blogspot since they don't have the technical knowhow to block a particular blog.

But right now I am seriously pissed off! On Wednesday evening after 8 PM, am not able to access any blogs, both from my Tata Indicom Walky connection at home and from the corporate VSNL connection from office!

Even after getting so much media attention from the whole world for all the wrong reasons, I don't understand why the government is keeping mum! I was of the positive opinion that since so much furore has been generated, the government will soon roll back its decision.

But seeing that the blockage is only spreading, I doubt of any immediate reactions from the ISPs or from the DoT.

Will write more about this later! BTW, you can access my blog through this link http://www.pkblogs.com/peakday

Till then, happy surfing!

Ariyaatha pillakku choriyumbol ariyum!

As a kid/teenager, my only source of information to learn malayalam was Manorama Publications' Balaram, a children's fortnightly and my granny. I still vividly remember how she used to teach me the basics of malayalam whenever I come to Kerala on vacations. My granny was also a great source of amazement for me as she used malaylam proverbs or the so called "pazham chollu" every now and then. These proverbs, though small in length and use, had deep insights! Though I can read/write Malayalam today, thx to Balarama and my granny, I used to miss her proverbs a lot. But not anymore!!
