19 November was declared 'World Toilet Day' in 2001 by 17 toilet associations around the world. Since then there has been an established annual World Toilet Summit and many other regional conferences. Each toilet association has also engaged in many activities promoting clean toilets in their own respective country.
Beijing will host the 'World Toilet Summit 2004' from Thursday onwards. Previous hosts were Singapore, Seoul and Taipei.
Dr Bindeshwar Pathak, founder of Sulabh International, will represent India and he will speak on 'Toilet - A Tool of Social Change'.

Exactly on the same date as when it will be held in Munnar!
