"Ending speculation of over one month and consultations with allies, the government today hiked petrol prices by about Rs 2.20, diesel prices by about Rs 2.10 per litre linking them to import parity price and LPG by Rs 20 per cylinder while sparing kerosene prices.
The new prices will be effective from midnight tonight.
The hike in oil prices will imply that people will have to shell out about Rs 2.20 to Rs 2.50 per litre more on petrol and about Rs 2.10 to Rs 2.40 per litre on diesel in different states depending upon state taxes that include local taxes, octroi as well."
I think it's time for someone to come up with an alternative source of energy, something like Ramar Petrol!! The other option would be to be like Chinese guys, use bicycles to come to office.
And those of you planning to go to your home town Kerala this weekend, better don't go... There might be a strike anytime there!!

The options u put forwrd are wonderful.. Don't go for Ramar Petrol coz its peak n u don't hve tme to waste, but u can definitely buy a bicycle.. :-)) It would be a good exercise for all guyz here.. esp for u!!
ReplyDeleteGood Exercise-- good health-- GOOD WORK..
Hey,
ReplyDeleteThanks for your concern "over" my health!!
But rather than cycling, walking would be a good option because the ROI (return on investment) for this option is very high.
If you buy a bicycle, you again have to incur the capital cost (i.e., 3000/- for a new one) and the maintenance cost {i.e., puncture=20 Rs., overhaul=150 Rs.} etc. and hence the ROI is not good....
What you say?? :-))
ROI may not be better than walking, but at least, you won't have to take any impairment charges.
ReplyDeleteIf you opt for the walking option, you might have to take long-term impairment charges (Total knee arthroplasty Rs. 20,000, knee lock Rs. 10,000, osteoporosis - screwed ).
So, even if the ROI may not be that good, you can rest assured that you are not going to have any long-term impairment charges that can rip your company off the legs. Cycling also has some long-term risks, but at the most, you can just write down your cycle for Rs. 500.
I suggest you take the cycling option than walking. Although it may be of cyclic nature, you can go on a straight line depending on your balance skill.
Also there are other benefits:
Lesser turn-around time (while turning on jodhi bakery corner)
Alert option is available (ring the bell - otherwise you have to shout)
But there is one major disadvantage - your reputation everywhere will get spoilt. people will think you are a drug dealer....How? scroll down

You will be a PEDALER!!!
Perils of cycling to office = Rs. 3,000/- plus (maintenance, puncture, capital cost etc.)

Company providing free pick up and drop = Priceless.
For everything else, there's a petrol pump.
Company providing free pick up and drop = Priceless:
ReplyDeleteThat is a huge dividend you are asking for !!!
...in these challenging times post-election, you should have a conservative view rather than an overly optimistic standpoint.
Did that help, RC?
Poverty strikes.
ReplyDeleteHunger strikes.
Terror strikes.
These strikes are in places with people.
While 40% Keralaites are in Coimbatore and 60% in Gulf, why often strikes??????
