PreMatch Interview - Part 1

Here's what Ranjith, Captain of HR-BPO team has to say about the upcoming mega finals...

1. You had an unbelievable victory over the mighty FRM in your semifinals and are now the underdogs to win this final. What are your views about the upcoming match?

I do not understand the word "Unbelievable". We have been called "underdogs" every time we step into the field. We are a new entity at this event but I am not sure that classifies us as "underdogs". I think we have played every match in this series with merit and believe that needs to be recognized. FRM A was the better player on the day of our prelim match and they deserve all cerdit for the same. We have been playing good cricket from the beginning and believe have a very strong team spirit both on and off the field. Our victories would not have been possible without the support of our cheerleaders. We have shared wins and losses together. We knew we could beat FRM and that was what happened. To FRM A's credit there were no losers in our match with them. Both teams deserved to win.

The upcoming match will be a battle of nerves. Both the teams are good. Whichever team is going to keep their cool will take the honors.

2. Any new players in the team?

Our boys are good at what they are assigned to. We will mostly have the same team going to the Finals.

3. What have you learned from your previous match?

Even the "Unbeatable" are beatable and better the victorious underdogs than the "fallen" Goliath.

4. What are your main concerns for the upcoming match?

Extras. Amarjith was injured during the last match, hoping he would become alright by Saturday for the Big Event.

5. How do you rake up ICT?

Our presence in the finals would have already sent shivers down their spine.

6. Any message you wish to convey to the ICT team?

Actions speak louder than words.

Ariyaatha pillakku choriyumbol ariyum!

As a kid/teenager, my only source of information to learn malayalam was Manorama Publications' Balaram, a children's fortnightly and my granny. I still vividly remember how she used to teach me the basics of malayalam whenever I come to Kerala on vacations. My granny was also a great source of amazement for me as she used malaylam proverbs or the so called "pazham chollu" every now and then. These proverbs, though small in length and use, had deep insights! Though I can read/write Malayalam today, thx to Balarama and my granny, I used to miss her proverbs a lot. But not anymore!! Thanks to this Wikipedia link , forwarded to me by Vinay
