JLT for a cause!

Usually before we start our peak season in my office, we've this tradition of organizing small get togethers which we've nicknamed as JLT. What's JLT? Just Like That!

For the past 5 odd years, we've been having JLTs every 3 months at a hotels, clubs and other places.

But this time was different! We decided to enjoy this get together for a noble cause, by visiting an orphanage, spending time with the kids, having a meal with them, and by giving them useful gifts!

The place we visited was called Aravanaikum Anbu-Illam. Here's a few snaps shot from this event

  1. Had been part of many JLTs. But this one marks some differences.

All the previous JLTs relaxed your brain but this one your heart.

In all the prevous JLTs, you spent money but not THIS worthy.

In all the previous JLTs only you enjoyed, but now, you have become the cause of others' "enjoyment"

In all the previous JLTs, you went for something you loved, but this time, you have been there with someone who wanted to be loved ...

    Kuddus!!

(Not but the least in all the previous JLTs (exempting a few), I had been an active participant. Unfortunately, I really missed this one!!)

To become a cause of others' happiness is God's gift!!

    Cheers!!

  2. Wow! Brilliantly said Anon. Would really like to know the man behind the words.

And yeah, as u said, I too had to miss this JLT for some personal issues which I couldn't avoid.

It felt really bad since I hadn't missed even a single JLT

Ariyaatha pillakku choriyumbol ariyum!

As a kid/teenager, my only source of information to learn malayalam was Manorama Publications' Balaram, a children's fortnightly and my granny. I still vividly remember how she used to teach me the basics of malayalam whenever I come to Kerala on vacations. My granny was also a great source of amazement for me as she used malaylam proverbs or the so called "pazham chollu" every now and then. These proverbs, though small in length and use, had deep insights! Though I can read/write Malayalam today, thx to Balarama and my granny, I used to miss her proverbs a lot. But not anymore!! Thanks to this Wikipedia link , forwarded to me by Vinay
