Sillunu Oru Shopping!

On a chilly evening at Kodaikanal, a group of four young men, decided to understand the concept of shopping by the other species (women!) and followed three women through the streets of Kodai to understand their shopping behavior.....

Here's what happened!

The ladies first approached a roadside "socks" merchant and bargained with him for a pair of "mojo socks" for nearly 30 minutes. But after detecting the presence of the detectives, they immediately ventured out to their next generation.

After getting into an ATM and getting all the cash from it, the ladies again started walking, all the while the detectives followed! Remember, our objective was to understand their shopping "behavior". Point noted was that somebody's savings just got looted!

Their next target was a small time fruit shop with few varieties. They literally spent 1 hour over there to buy around 1/4 kg of worthless fruits!! Can you believe it??

The detectives meanwhile where watching it from across the road. Frustrated, one of the detective decided to venture out towards them!

But what happened next shocked the rest of the detectives!! The ladies brainwashed one of our own men and made him carry all their baggages!

The smell of the fresh, bright red plums made inroads into our tastebuds and we started eating it without their knowledge and pardoned our traitor!

We finally gave ur our pursuit of understanding the shopping behavior of the other "species" and went to a paan shop and had sweet beeda!

Ariyaatha pillakku choriyumbol ariyum!

As a kid/teenager, my only source of information to learn malayalam was Manorama Publications' Balaram, a children's fortnightly and my granny. I still vividly remember how she used to teach me the basics of malayalam whenever I come to Kerala on vacations. My granny was also a great source of amazement for me as she used malaylam proverbs or the so called "pazham chollu" every now and then. These proverbs, though small in length and use, had deep insights! Though I can read/write Malayalam today, thx to Balarama and my granny, I used to miss her proverbs a lot. But not anymore!! Thanks to this Wikipedia link , forwarded to me by Vinay
