Lalu goes International!

In his own inimitable style, Lalu Prasad Yadav, the guy who was one snyonymous with fraud has impressed the Ivy Leage college grads from Harvard and Wharton. Obviously, the Railways success story under the leadership of Lalu and the court judging him not guilty of the fodder scam has put Lalu in high spirits. Here's an interesting article about the hour-long session he had with Harvard/Wharton MBA grads, explaining to them the success mantra.

"I did not increase the fares. I did not retrench employees. Instead I gave them a bonus. I took the traders into confidence. I also took the employees into confidence.
We will set up 75,000 krishi (farmers) outlets on railway stations. It is sad we sell shoes in air-conditioned showrooms and food grains on the footpath.
This is just the beginning. Asli cinema to baaki hai (the real movie is yet to come)"

Indeed Mr. Laluji, asli cinema toh abhi bhaki hai. Anyone for Mr. Laluji as the next PM?

Ariyaatha pillakku choriyumbol ariyum!

As a kid/teenager, my only source of information to learn malayalam was Manorama Publications' Balaram, a children's fortnightly and my granny. I still vividly remember how she used to teach me the basics of malayalam whenever I come to Kerala on vacations. My granny was also a great source of amazement for me as she used malaylam proverbs or the so called "pazham chollu" every now and then. These proverbs, though small in length and use, had deep insights! Though I can read/write Malayalam today, thx to Balarama and my granny, I used to miss her proverbs a lot. But not anymore!!
