I was watching the inter departmental cricket match in my company when I received a call from someone named Ramprabhu. When I picked up the phone, he told me that he is a medical transcriber working in Chennai for the past 4 years and was planning to shift his base to Coimbatore and was looking for a job here. I was perplexed and in a rough tone asked, "So what?"

Then he told me that he is a regular reader of my blog and came to know that am working at KGiSL. Still I didn't believe him and thought somebody might be conning me. Then as he talked I realized that this guy is speaking the truth. I asked him to call up after 15 minutes and when he called up again, I gave the phone to my operations manager and an appointment was set!

And so it turned out to be a genuine guy looking for a job and am happy that I was able to give him a lead through my blog!!

Way to go!! Long live blogging!

As a kid/teenager, my only source of information to learn malayalam was Manorama Publications' Balaram, a children's fortnightly and my granny. I still vividly remember how she used to teach me the basics of malayalam whenever I come to Kerala on vacations. My granny was also a great source of amazement for me as she used malaylam proverbs or the so called "pazham chollu" every now and then. These proverbs, though small in length and use, had deep insights! Though I can read/write Malayalam today, thx to Balarama and my granny, I used to miss her proverbs a lot. But not anymore!!
