PreMatch Interview!!

Two super human teams are battling it out tomorrow for a place in the semifinals in the decider match of the Knockout Round II. Fortunes of too many a teams will be decided by the outcome of tomorrow's match. I caught up with the Captains of both the teams and here's what they have to say:

Johnson - FRM-A:
1.) What's the strategy you have adopted for tomorrow's match?
A.) Play to win.

2.) Have you done any preparations as such?
A.) Had some personal meeting with HR-BPO. :-)

3.) Your batting performance in the last match flawed a little inspite of having some very good batsmen. Comments please.
A.) Good wine is served last.

4.) Your team has got many all-rounders. How are you planning to effectively use them in tomorrow's match.
A.) Expect the unexpected.

5.) What have you learned as your strengths/weaknesses from last match.
A.) Strength: We play as a team.
Weakness: !!!!!!!!!!! (It's secret)

6.) Who do you rake up HR-BPO?
A.) The next hurdle to cross.

Ranjith - HR-BPO

1.) What's the strategy you have adopted for tomorrow's match?
A.) To bowl well, field well and bat well.

2.) Have you done any preparations as such?
A.) We have been practicing for quite a long period. Hopefully it would pay off.

3.) You gave 29 extras in your last game against EDS A. What steps have to taken to reduce the extras?
A.) We have asked our bowlers to concentrate on line and length than on speed. During the practice sessions our main focus was on this aspect.

4.) Your team has got a good batting line up. Any special preparations from your team?
A.) We are thinking of a slight shuffle in the batting line up. Apart from that, nothing much. We are ready to face the challenge.

5.) What have you learned as your strengths/weaknesses from last match.
A.) Our main strength is our "Team Spirit" which was very much evident in the last match. Batting line-up looks good. If our bowlers get their act together we are definitely a force to reckon.

6.) How do you rake up FRM-A?
A.) Mentally we have prepared to take the FRM-A team on. We have our mathematics worked out and have done our homework. We are raring to go out in full force at them.

7.) Ranjith, on a personal note, you are taking on your brother for the first time tomorrow. What are your views?
A.) I must be knowing his strengths and weaknesses, which would help me in designing strategies against him!!

Ariyaatha pillakku choriyumbol ariyum!

As a kid/teenager, my only source of information to learn malayalam was Manorama Publications' Balaram, a children's fortnightly and my granny. I still vividly remember how she used to teach me the basics of malayalam whenever I come to Kerala on vacations. My granny was also a great source of amazement for me as she used malaylam proverbs or the so called "pazham chollu" every now and then. These proverbs, though small in length and use, had deep insights! Though I can read/write Malayalam today, thx to Balarama and my granny, I used to miss her proverbs a lot. But not anymore!! Thanks to this Wikipedia link , forwarded to me by Vinay
