In a first of its kind ruling by the Indian government, smoking on TV programs and Films is prohibited from August 1. It's a sad decision in that Rajni won't be able to make his ciggie gimmicks in silver screen nor would a CID in a TV serial show that he is thinking intensly by smoking.
Already channels have started showing that "smoking is injurious to health" whenever a character on screen smokes. The govt. of India has also come down heavily on Ciggie and liquor advertisements in print or TV medium.
But will all these make people quit smoking? Doubtful. But we can definitely save the next generation from picking up this habit.
