Game for Cricket??

We have this great tradition going around at KGiSL where every year we beat the summer heat by playing inter departmental cricket tournament. And this year is no different with the season starting on May 28 (coming saturday)...

The odds are evenly stacked with some great all round cricketers in almost all teams... 10 teams have given their names and each will be playing 5 matches in the first round called "knockout round"....

My department, FRM, has to take its lost glory this time... We were the champions in 2003 but the Call Center team took away the glory last year when we thought they were minnows...

So, be there on the 28th to watch the first teaser to a really promising season ahead!!

Teams are as follows:

Call Center
HR BPO
EDS Team A
EDS Team B
FRM Team A
FRM Team B
ICT
Software Team A
Software Team B
Software Team C

PS: I will be there to catch all the action and will update it in the blog also... hopefully with some pics...

Ariyaatha pillakku choriyumbol ariyum!

As a kid/teenager, my only source of information to learn malayalam was Manorama Publications' Balaram, a children's fortnightly and my granny. I still vividly remember how she used to teach me the basics of malayalam whenever I come to Kerala on vacations. My granny was also a great source of amazement for me as she used malaylam proverbs or the so called "pazham chollu" every now and then. These proverbs, though small in length and use, had deep insights! Though I can read/write Malayalam today, thx to Balarama and my granny, I used to miss her proverbs a lot. But not anymore!!
