NASSCOM, the premier organization of IT and BPO companies, have come up with a report which estimates IT/BPO sector to grow by 28% to account for 4.8% of GDP in FY06.
This is what it said about BPO industry - "Indian ITES-BPO exports are estimated to grow to $6.3 billion by the end of fiscal 2005-2006. Net employment in the sector is estimated to have grown by approximately 1 lakh in 2004-2005, the total direct employment having risen to 3.16 lakh."

Good for us. Let's hope it does not raise hackles where it matters the most- the united states of America.
